A former Speaker of the House of Representatives and governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari has condemned the wave of attacks on his campaign offices alleged to have been carried out by the agents of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Masari, in a statement issued yesterday by his Special Assistant, Media, Mallam Abdu Labaran, drew the attention of the general public, particularly the security agencies in the state to what he described as “barbaric attacks on and vandalization” of his campaign offices by sponsored thugs.
The statement reads in part: “The systematic, planned and deliberate vandalisation of the campaign offices, also known as Restoration Project 2015, which culminated in the attack on the WTC Road head office of the organisation last night, started five days ago, when armed youth, chanting PDP slogan, attacked the APC Youth Vanguard office located along IBB Way, Katsina.
“It is our belief that the continuous cowardly attacks on APC offices are emboldened, indeed encouraged, by the refusal of the security agencies to apprehend the offenders and their sponsors, even as these acts of thuggery are most times carried out in the presence of the police.
“We consider this development as not only unfortunate, but worrisome, taking place with impunity in spite of the undertaking signed by the leadership and the presidential candidates of all the political parties to conduct their campaigns peacefully in both action and pronouncement.” He lamented
