The Katsina State government has reacted to the rally held on Saturday by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Director General, Media and Publicity to the governor, Mallam Ibrahim Muazzam Abdullahi, said “what happened yesterday was a clear demonstration of Gov Masari’s maturity and understanding of how politics should be played”.
In a chat with newsmen, he lamented previous experiences in Katsina during the immediate past PDP government.
Abdullahi said “During that time, intimidation and brutalisation were the order of the day”.
He assured the people of Katsina State that the Government of Masari would continue to pursue and implement issue-based politics, free of intimidation and harassment.
Four PDP state governors, Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state, Darius Ishaku of Taraba, Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom and Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe were among PDP leaders that graced the occasion.
All members of the National Working Committee NWC of the PDP, the BOT Chairman Senator Walid Jibrin, former Senate President Adolphus Wabara and other members of the National Executives Committee, NEC, attended the rally.
