Former Military Administrator of Lagos State, Retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, on Wednesday formally announced his defection to All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by his media aide, Malam Bello Zubairu, in Yola.
Marwa had last week announced his resignation from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“The decision to return to APC was jointly reached at a well attended meeting today between Marwa and his supporters under the aegis of The Marwa Organisation (TMO),” it added.
The statement noted that after listening to the views of members, the TMO resolved to return to the party (APC), which they joined others to form when they were in the defunct Congress for Progressives Change (CPC).
It said that Marwa urged all elected and appointed officials across the country to support President Muhammadu Buhari and work for positive change in the country.
Marwa was the governorship candidate of CPC in Adamawa in 2011 and left APC for PDP in 2014 over allegation that many of his supporters were denied APC membership registration by the then party officials. (NAN)
