Immediate past President of the Senate, Senator David Mark literally wept yesterday as news of the demise of the 2015 People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate in Plateau state, Senator Gyang Pwajok filtered in.
Senator Mark in a reaction to the demise of Pwajok lamented that the erstwhile Senator was a complete gentleman, who exhibited uncommon commitment and patriotism to the ideals of nationhood.
Senator Mark recalled that the late Pwajok was one of the youngest and brightest senators during the 7th Senate.
He said: “Senator Pwajok was truly a distinguished Senator who was very committed and passionate about the welfare, Security and development of Nigeria.
“His death at this time is tragic. It is even more devastating when one recalls that late Pwajok only came to the Senate to complete the tenure of his predecessor, late Senator Gyang Dalyop, Dantong who met his death during one of the ethno-religious conflicts in the troubled Plateau state.
“This is a huge loss to the people of Plateau state and the nation at large. It is regretable that Pwajok died at a time when his services were most needed to navigate through the murky political terrain.
“He has left a huge vacuum. We shall miss him especially for his frank and unbiased disposition to national issues”.
Senator Mark, therefore, condoled the government and people of Plateau state over the sad loss.
He asked the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that Pwajok lived a short but an eventful and accomplished life worthy of emulation.
