Mark visits Ad’Enone; condemns the suspension of the paramount Ruler of Ohimini

The newly inaugurated Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Dr. David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark has condemned in strong terms, the recent suspension of the Ad’Ohimini, Chief Dr. John Ochai Ajefu by the Idoma Area Traditional Council.

Senator Mark stated this on Monday when he paid courtesy visit to the palace of Ad’Enone in Okpoga, Okpokwu LGA of Benue State.

According to the former Senate President, “traditional stools in Idoma land are very sacred to Idoma people and it will be an unfortunate omen for anybody to politicise it”.

Senator Mark who was in Okpokwu LGA to thank the people for their massive supports during the last rerun election, also expressed disatisfacttion over the refusal of Okpokwu Caretaker Chairman to come out and receive him and other Idoma leaders, saying the era of party politics had gone and there is need to unite together and move the Idoma land forward.

In his response, the Ad’Enone, Chief John Ali congratulated the Okpokpowulu k’Idoma on his reelection and blessed him for greater heights in his political endeavours.

The state Chairman of PDP, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo; former Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro; PDP Governorship candidate for Benue State, Rt. Hon. Terhemen Tarzoor; his deputy, Hon. John Ngbede; Members of the National and state Assembly and Benue Vice Chairman of PDP, Dr. Tetsim Ayar Gwer were prominent among dignitaries in Okpokwu.

It could be recalled that the Monarch of Ohimini was recently handed 6 months suspension by the Idoma Area Traditional Council for mobilising his council members to welcome Senator Mark when he visited Ohimini LGA last week.

The Ad’Ohimini did not only give Senator Mark a warm reception, he also went ahead to honour the Idoma political leader with the title of OGOMOLA K’OHIMINI.
