The gubernatorial candidate of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, in Anambra State, Mr Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo has praised the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, for what he termed the sacrifices he has made in his fight against perceived marginalisation of Ndigbo.
Ezeemo said leaders in the mould of Kanu were rare, but added that the IPOB leader needed guidance to be able to lead the people aright and not in the path he was doing, as seen in the call for boycott of the governorship election in Anambra State.
Ezeemo, who stated this while addressing a joint coalition of students comprising of students of Federal Polytechnic, Oko and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, said Igbos were yet to appoint leaders who would hold their common interest over and above their selfish interest.
The Guber hopeful who was once attacked by members of Kanu’s IPOB praised Kanu for the sacrifices he has made, including his stay in prison.
He said, “Our elites have not been sincere to us. We have had several chances at the federal level but we misused them due to selfishness and greed.
“Now that we do not have as much chance again, we are bickering that we are being marginalised. We are the ones marginalising ourselves by accommodating corrupt leaders among us.”
He admonished the youths to develop good character which he said was what made him excel in life despite his humble background.
