Alhaji Abdullahi Marafa has emerged Speaker of the Niger State 8th House of Assembly.
Marafa who was elected on Tuesday was nominated by Alhaji Bashir Lokogoma, APC, Wushishi, and Alhaji Bako Alfa, APC, Bida North.
The new speaker was however elected unopposed.
In a related development, Alhaji Hussaini Ibrahim, APC, Agaie, was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the 8th Assembly.
Hussaini was returned unopposed following his nomination by Hajiya Binta Mamman, APC, Gurara, and Alhaji Nura Garba, APC, Kontagora 2.
While giving his acceptance speech, the newly elected Speaker promised to carry out his function meaningful which will turn around the well-being of the people.
