Zegeyo resettlement area of Okpatta town in Doma Local Government Area of Nasrawa State was attacked Friday afternoon.

The attack was allegedly carried out by some Fulani herdsmen.

An eyewitness told The Eagle Online that trouble started when some herdsmen stormed a farm where some youths were working.

The Fulanis retreated but later went back to the settlement, shooting sporadically.

One of the community leaders, Francis Ikyor Gbande, said one woman was left with several gunshot wounds.

According to Gbande, several others, including his elder brother, Ioryoosu Gbande, Koriyol Anagol, Doowuese Umende, Abiola Ioryoosu and Atim Kpakena sustained varying degrees of injuries.

He said the police had already visited the scene and had conveyed some of the injured to a nearby primary health care centre for medical attention.

Police Public Relations Officer of Nasrawa State Police Command, DSP Ismaila Numan, said he would react after getting more details with the Okpatta Divisional Police Officer.
