Coach of Nigeria’s U-17 side Manu Garba, says his team will not be affected by Isaac Success’ absence, insisting that his players will defeat Iraq in their last group match at the al Rashid Stadium in Dubai.

Success sustained an hamstring injury in the Eaglets’ 3-3 draw with Sweden and will not feature against the Asians.

“Success had a scan today and it is unfortunate that he would not be available against Iraq,” Manu said. “But we have other players who can do the job and a good example is Taiwo Awoniyi who scored the equaliser against Sweden.”

Manu also made it clear they were going all out for victory today.

“We have no other way than to win our game against Iraq and Insha Allah (by the grace of Allah), we are going to win,” he said.

“We respect Iraq but we are going to do everything in our capacity to win this match because our objective is to do very well at this championship.”
