Manu Garba appointed Gombe United technical adviser, promises NPFL top four finish

Former coach of the Under-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, Manu Garba has been confirmed as the Chief coach of newly promoted Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL side Gombe United.

He was appointed to take charge of the Savannah Scorpions ahead the new season.

The club’s media chief, Tanimu Umar, said Garba’s choice was based on his experience and international exposure.

Meanwhile, the former U20 handler has promised to take the team to a top four finish next season.

According to him, “God willing, I will be in charge of Gombe United this football season.

“Our objective is to finish among the top four if we get the support from the management and train the players in all areas of football fitness as well as getting good pre-season training.

“Every player and official must work in harmony for us to achieve our aims.”

In the club’s reshuffle, Hassan Abubakar now takes the chief coach position, while Ali Garba occupies the space of assistant coach I, leaving Haruna Abdullahi and Glory Aghomon as assistant coach II and goalkeepers’ trainer respectively.
