Manchester United executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward has met with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and assistant coach, Mike Phelan at Carrington.
The purpose of the meeting was to discussed Man United’s recent drop in form, according to Daily Mail UK.
United returned strong after Jose Mourinho’s dismissal and enjoyed a remarkable start to life under Solskjaer.
However, the Red Devils have struggled in recent weeks, losing seven of their last nine matches in all competitions.
The report says that Woodward has been shocked by the side’s run of poor form loses and held an inquest to find out what was going wrong.
The three men spoke at length at a lunch-time meeting on Thursday.
The executive vice chairman also raised the issue of United’s line-up being leaked before Wednesday’s game against City.
The leaked line-up was particularly shocking for many at Old Trafford because the manager had tried to pull a tactical surprise handing Matteo Darmian a rare start in a back five.
