Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has hailed his team for being in “control”, following their 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday.
Marcus Rashford scored twice in the first half, as United took a two-goal lead into the break.
Although Liverpool pulled one back through an Eric Bailly own goal, Mourinho’s men held on to open a five-point gap between them and the Reds.
“We can split the first half, United half, second half, Liverpool half. Our first half was goals and danger. I don’t know what happens if Mata scores that fantastic goal.
“In the second half, it was Liverpool controlling by having the ball, United controlling not having the ball. I don’t remember David making a save.
“Even after 2-1, our team was always in control. Our full-backs defended very well.
“It was a complete performance by us. Even if people think we don’t deserve I don’t care. Three points!” Mourinho told Sky Sports.
