Manchester United told to sack Solskjaer, hire Allegri

Former Liverpool defender, Steve Nicol, has told Manchester United to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and hire outgoing Juventus boss, Max Allegri.

According to Nicol, there is “no contest” between the two managers.

Juventus announced on Friday that Allegri would not be manager of the club next season, leading to United and a host of other top clubs being linked with the 51-year-old.

As Nicol and his ESPN colleagues discussed who they’d rather have as manager, the ex-Liverpool full back had no doubts despite Solskjaer being given the permanent role as United boss in March.

“I know there’s the human element in it.But really?

“Who would you rather have as your manager, Allegri or Solskjaer?

“Seriously, it’s no contest,” he said.

Since replacing Antonio Conte in 2014, Allegri has consistently delivered Serie A titles while also guiding the club to two Champions League finals.
