Manchester United target, Griezmann commits to Atletico Madrid after transfer ban

Antoine Griezmann has pledged his loyalty to Atletico Madrid, after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld their transfer ban on Thursday.

Griezmann has been heavily linked with a summer move to Manchester United, but Atletico’s inability to sign a replacement because of their ban, has disrupted those plans.

The France international has now appeared to have now poured cold water on the potential switch by tweeting “Now more than ever, Atleti”, hours after their appeal was rejected.

Atletico had been tipped to bring in Chelsea striker Diego Costa and Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette to replace Griezmann, but the La Liga side cannot register new players until January 2018.

However, there might still be a twist, with Griezmann’s buy-out clause reportedly set at around €100million.
