Louis van Gaal is not satisfied with the arrivals of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin and is prepared to splash more money this summer.
According to The Express, the Premier League side have set aside £75 million to buy Edinson Cavani and Nicolas Otamendi
Van Gaal wants Cavani to replace Robin van Persie, who has left for Turkish club, Fenerbahce. With Paris Saint-Germain boss, Laurent Blanc expressing interest in Angel Di Maria, speculation is that the Ligue 1 champions might be keen on a swap deal.
However, it is understood United would like to keep the Argentine winger and pay £50 million for the Uruguayan striker. They will also be ready to pay £25 million to get Valencia defender Otamendi, after missing out on primary targets Mats Hummels and Sergio Ramos.
