Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has said that Kelechi Iheanacho or Raheem Sterling could be Manchester City’s surprise package, ahead of the Derby on Saturday.
Iheanacho broke into the City squad last season and scored 14 goals, despite coming off the bench most times.
He also scored last weekend, as Nigeria defeated Tanzania 1-0, in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
The 19-year-old might become the first Nigerian to play and score in the Manchester Derby, if he is selected by manager, Pep Guardiola.
City will be without Sergio Aguero, who starts his 3-match ban, for elbowing Winston Reid.
“He (City manager Pep Guardiola) could decide to play with Iheanacho or Sterling. He could decide to play with Silva as a fake No.9 between the lines. It is clear that they have many options,” Mourinho said
He added, “That for us, in the preparation of the game, makes us have to go step-by-step with every situation because we are trying to reduce the unpredictability of the game. To try to do this now is more difficult.”
