Nicolas Otamendi is close to completing a £25million move from Valencia to Manchester City.
The Argentine centre-back has been heavily linked to Manchester United this summer, but it appears their neighbours have moved in front of the queue.
When asked about an impending transfer after the 3-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday, Pellegrini remained mute.
“No, I cannot confirm nothing. I do not talk about it”, he said.
Otamendi has reportedly bid farewell to his Valencia team-mates and the 27-year-old is expected to travel to England this week.
The deal will likely see City defender Eliaquim Mangala move the other way on loan. .
