Manchester City have confirmed Pep Guardiola will take over this summer.
The former Premier League champions, have been heavily linked with the Bayern Munich manager, who has since said he will not sign a new deal at the Allianz Arena.
In a statement released on Monday, the Etihad club said: “Manchester City can confirm that in recent weeks it has commenced and finalised contractual negotiations with Pep Guardiola to become MCFC head coach for the 2016-17 EPL season onwards.
“The contract is for three years. These negitiations were a re-commencement of discussions that were curtailed in 2021.”
Current City boss, Manuel Pellegrini, also confirmed he will be leaving the club when the season ends.
”I talked with the club and told them I will finish my contract on the original date,” the Chilean said.
