Man identified Obed Fwond, 32 who was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ court for allegedly stabbing his neighbour on his manhood has been set free.
According to the prosecuting officer, Inspector George Nwosu, the development followed the withdrawal of the case by the complainant against the accused.
The Magistrate A.A Adesanya, ruling on the application of withdrawal ordered that the accused be discharged and acquitted.
“This follows the application filed by the complainant notifying the court of his intention to withdraw the charge.”
The accused who is a resident of Awori in Dopemu area of Agege, Lagos, was arraigned November 24.
He was charged with a two-count of breach of peace and assault.
The prosecutor had earlier told the court that the accused committed the offence on November 17 at his residence.
He said the victim had challenged the accused for breaking the ceiling of their residence to connect electricity without notifying other neighbours.
According to him, this resulted in an argument and Fwoms brought out a knife and stabbed Ofoke.
