The Rivers State Police Command has identified the man who committed suicide at Alesa, Eleme Local government area of the state as Patrick Archibong.
The State police spokesman, DSP Nnamdi Omoni while confirming the incident said thirty-five-year-old Patrick hailed from Cross River state.
DSP Omoni said the man who had chased out his wife from their home, strangled all his four children, set the house ablaze with himself in the building.
“We are shocked as to why the man killed his own children. It was the Landlord who came to report the matter and on getting there, we found five corpses with the man hanging himself.
“We have evacuated the bodies and our men at the State CID are on top of the matter,” he said.
