A 30-year-old man, Muhammad Hassan, was on Wednesday arraigned at an Oredo Magistrates’ Court in Benin City for allegedly stabbing his customer, Mr Emeka Nwoku, with a knife.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Hassan is being tried for causing bodily harm.
The Police Prosecutor, Patrick Agbonifo told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 29.
Agbonifo said that the offence contravened Section 335 of the Criminal Code, Laws of the defunct Bendel State now applicable in Edo State.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.
Ruling on the bail application of the accused, the Magistrate, Mrs I.A. Osayande, granted him bail in the sum of N190,000 and a surety in like sum.
She, however, adjourned the case until Aug. 16 for hearing.
