An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Friday remanded a 42-year-old man, Eze Onijekachi, in prison for allegedly defiling his wife’s 14-year-old sister and housemaid.

Onijekachi, who resides at No. 44, Joseph Babatunde St., Ajangbadi, Lagos State, pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of his wife’s sister.

The prosecutor, Insp. Onime Idowu, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 16, at 2:00am at the said address.

Idowu said that the accused had unlawful carnal knowledge of his wife’s 14-year-old sister, who was living with them and assisting them in looking after their little baby whenever his wife was not at home.

According to Idowu, the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The chief magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Adegite, in her ruling said the accused should remain behind bars and ordered the transfer of the case to the Special Offences Court, Ikeja.

Adegite adjourned the case until June 25 for mention.
