A Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered that a driver, Salahudeen Isah, 50, who allegedly defiled his friend’s nine-year-old daughter, be remanded in prison, pending legal advice.
NAN reports that Magistrate, Hajara Dauda, who did not take the plea of Isah, ordered the police to duplicate the case file and send it to the Kaduna State Directorate of Public Prosecution for legal advice.
Dauda adjourned the matter until Sept. 30 for mention.
Isah, who resides in Kakuri in Kaduna State, is charged with defilement.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Sunday Baba, had told the court that on Aug. 30, Isah allegedly lured his friend’s nine-year-old daughter into his room and defiled her.
Baba said that the matter was reported to the State Criminal Investigation Department, by the girl’s father.
The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Section 258 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Laws 2017.
