One Ahmadu Hassan of Kuki Village, in Dutsin Ma Local Government Area has been remanded by a Senior Magistrate Court sitting in Katsina, for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 12-year-old girl in Kachi village of Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The prosecuting police officer, Hasim Musa, in his testimony before the court said, on the 14th of January this year, an Inspector of Police, Ibrahim Mustapha apprehended Hassan and upon interrogation, he confessed to abducting the victim, adding that he took her to a village called Saminaka where she was for two months while sleeping with her all through.
According to the Police prosecutor, the offence contravenes Sections 275 and 283 of the Penal Code.
The case was however adjourned by the Magistrate, Nafisat Lawal Bagiwa, till March 17.
