An Ebute-Meta Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Friday, ordered the remand of one Lukman Yekini in custody for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a 13-year-old girl.
Yekini, whose plea was not taken, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy to commit felony and defilement.
The magistrate, Mrs A.O. Salawu, remanded the defendant at the Ikoyi Prison pending the outcome of legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), NAN reports.
Earlier, the Police Prosecutor, Insp Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometime in February at Block 25, Flat 2, Glover Estate, Ebute-Meta.
Uwadione alleged that Yekini had forceful sexual intercourse with the teenager.
According to him, the offences violate Sections 137 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The magistrate adjourned the case until May 8 for advice from the DPP.
