Man rapes four-year-old girl in Lagos

One Kingsley Churchill, 25 year old man, has been brought before a Magistrate Court sitting in Ebute Meta over the alleged rape of a four year old girl.

It was learnt that the accused forcefully had his way on the 13 year old in her parents’ house on Adeshokan Street, Ayobo, Lagos State on the 24th of January this year.

According to findings, the accused, before engaging in the evil act first inserted his fingers into the girl’s private part.

When the incident was discovered by the parents, they reported to the police who immediately arrested the accused. It was gathered that Churchill was arraigned on one count charge of sexual assault.

The charge states: “That you, Kingsley Churchill, on January 24, 2015, at Adeshokan Street, Ayobo, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault a four-year-old girl by inserting both your finger and penis into her vagina.”

Etim Nkankuk, the police prosecutor, said the crime is punishable under Section 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.

Churchill however pleaded pleaded not guilty to the charge, while J. AAdewunmi, the defence counsel in liberal terms asked the court to grant the accused bail.

Churchill was however granted bail with the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum by Chief Magistrate, A.O. Isaac, the presiding judge.
