A middle aged man has been murdered in Enugu by his co-tenant over issues surrounding payment of Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, bills.
DailyPost gathered that victim, Prince Uzor, was allegedly stabbed to death at his residence in Aguabor in Trans-Ekulu Enugu by his co-tenant Uzodinma Eneh over disagreement about sharing PHCN bills incurred by the yard.
Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, spokesman, Enugu State police command while confirming the incident said the victim was rushed to Parklane Specialist Hospital Enugu where he gave up the ghost. “The suspect is already helping the police in their investigation”, Amaraizu said.
In a related development, the police in the state have arrested two suspects who gave their names as Sunday Ayogu, and Kenneth Kingsley, both of Igbo-Eze North Council Area of the state over their alleged involvement in a case of armed robbery.
It was gathered that the suspects had allegedly armed themselves with gun and broken into the house of their victim, a manager of a petrol station located in Igogoro Road in the same council area.
The Police PPRO in Enugu, who also confirmed the incident said the suspects stole the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira, adding that “when the victim raised alarm, a group of neighbourhood watch men of the village quickly intervened and also drew the attention of the police to the incident.
“The entire area was cordoned off hence they were arrested. The are now helping the police in their investigations”.
Some of the items recovered from them are, five suspected stolen handsets, one long machete, the sum of one hundred and ninety seven thousand naira and a long cut to size locally made dane gun.
