Man kept behind bar in Osun for contempt of court

A 38-year-old man, Isiaka Sanusi, was on Tuesday remanded in Ilesa Prison custody by an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for disrespecting the court orders.

Sanusi is facing a count charge of contempt.

The Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, ordered the accused be kept behind bars due to the magnitude of the offence he committed.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Rasak Olaiwola, told the court that the accused failed to appeared in a case against him in MOS/203c/ 2015COP when it was called by the court clerk.

Olaiwola said ,the accused once abused the court privileges and was fined by the court.

He said the offense contravened section 133(2) of the criminal code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun, 2003.

The accused pleaded guilty to the offense against him.

The Magistrate, however, revoked his bail application and ordered that he be brought from prison custody pending his trial.
