Man jailed 100 years for drowning 3-year-old girl in hotel pool [VIDEO, PHOTO]

A man identified as Jose David N, who was caught on CCTV drowning his 3-year-old stepdaughter in a hotel swimming pool in Morelia, Michoacan in Mexico last month was yesterday sentenced to 100 years in prison.

The man was caught throwing the 3-year-old in the swimming pool multiple times, causing her to drown while the little girl’s mother was sleeping in their hotel room as a shocking surveillance footage released by the hotel security officials showed.

According to Michoacan City News, the incident caused outrage in Mexico when the footage was released.

The little girl was seen battling to keep herself afloat, while her step-father was seen standing at the side of the pool doing nothing.

According to the footage, at one point he threw her in and walks away returning to toss her back in when she is fully-clothed.

The man was seen holding her tiny body in such a position that she was unable to breathe, and later threw a flotation device at her even though he knew she wouldn’t be able to reach it.

The girl’s mother, a nurse at a local hospital, did not realize her child was drown until she saw the lifeless girl in front of the TV and rushed her to the hospital.

The little girl died shortly afterward with the autopsy conducted at the hospital showing she died from secondary drowning.

The mother claimed she did not know her daughter was being mistreated by her husband until she saw the shocking video clips.

The stepfather was arrested, detained by the police and arraigned in court.

The murderer was found guilty of aggravated murder by judges Juan Salvador Alonso Mejia, Ana Lilia Garcia Cardona and Noe Reyes Millan.

All efforts by the defence to suggest that the little girl had died outside the pool and not in the water was rejected by the judges and the suspect was jailed without a chance of parole.
