Man hacks wife, three others to death in Sokoto

One Taiwo Adio on Saturday allegedly killed his 43-year-old wife, Yemisi Adio and three others in Sokoto state.

The Police spokesperson in the state, El-mustapha Sani, confirmed the incident on Sunday in a statement made available to newsmen.

According to the statement, the incident occurred at the Old Airport area of the state. “The suspect used the same pestle with which he killed his wife, to kill three other persons: Rachael Adewole, 42, Esther Badelu, 14, and Dennis Adewole, 10, all of the same address.

”All the corpses have been deposited at the morgue of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, for post mortem,” the statement read, adding that the pestle had been recovered as exhibit and investigation was ongoing at the command’s Criminal Investigation Department, CID.
