A 28-year-old man, Kolawole Saliu has been arraigned before a Gudu Upper Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory for allegedly teaching a five-year-old girl sexual stimulation. Saliu of Phase 2, Jikwoyi, Abuja pleaded not guilty to the charge of act of gross indecency, contrary to Section 285 of the Penal Code.
The Prosecutor, Urom Otu told the court that one Mrs Blessing Sadus of Jikwoyi Phase 2, Abuja had reported the matter at the police station on April 26.
Otu said the mother of the alleged victim had returned from work and found her daughter fingering herself by putting her fingers in her private part to stimulate herself.
According to the prosecutor, when the mother queried her daughter, the girl told her that it was the defendant who often take her to his room to teach her.
The presiding officer, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted a N100, 000 bail to the defendant with a credible surety in like sum.
Kagarko ordered that the surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court and adjourned hearing in the case till July 19. (NAN)
