Arsenal are set to be without Granit Xhaka for today’s game against Manchester City, after the Swiss midfielder was left out of the squad that travelled to the north-west, the UK Metro reports.
Gunners boss, Unai Emery, eased the club’s injury crisis with the capture of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez earlier this week.
But he still faces problems in central defence and central midfield.
Xhaka was expected to start at the Etihad. However, the midfielder was not with Arsenal’s squad that arrived in Manchester last night and it is likely that he has sustained a knock to keep him out of the game.
To add to Emery’s troubles, Ainsley Maitland-Niles was also not spotted in the squad and is set to miss the game.
