A 28-year-old man, Bimbo Iseyin, has been granted bail of N100,000 by a Chief magistrate court in badagry, lagos.
The accused was alleged to have stolen two vehicle tyres worth 15,000 at a tyre warehouse situated at Joseph Dosu Way in Badagry.
According to Vanguard, the ruling was approved by the Chief Magistrate, Abiodun Etti, who also granted the accused a surety who is to provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The accused was charged for stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.
But the Prosecutor, Inspector Innocent Uko, told the court that the accused committed the offence on August 11 at a tyre warehouse located at Joseph Dosu Way in Badagry.
He said, “The stolen items belonged to the complainant, Mrs Akpan Udom.
“The accused just came to the shop, took two tyres and started running away.
“Onlookers gave him a hot pursuit and he was caught.’’
The Counsel to the accused, Mr Timothy Ukoha, pleaded with the court to grant him bail on liberal terms.
The case has been adjourned to September 29 for further hearing.
