Man arraigned for ‘stealing’ Sallah ram in Ibadan

A 41-year- old man, Kasimu Saka was on Wednesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for stealing a ram valued at N40, 000.

Saka whose address was not provided, is being tried for conspiracy and stealing.

According to the Police Prosecutor, Insp. Samad Aliu, Saka and others now at large conspired and stole a ram valued at N40,000, property of Mr. Adesola Adeyemi of Fagbemi Street, Ring Road, Ibadan.

Aliu said that the offences were committed on Aug. 21 2017 at 8.00 p.m. at Fagbemi Street.

The offences contravened Sections 390 (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Oyo State 2000.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

The Senior Magistrate, Mrs Patricia Adetuyibi after listening to the two parties, granted the accused bail in the sum of N40,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case till October 4th for hearing.
