A 32-year-old man was on Thursday brought before a Makurdi Chief Magistrate’s court for raping and infecting children of his lover with HIV.
The Accused person, Mr. Terkura Iorpuu was alleged to have forcedly had carnal knowledge of the victims aged eight and six. They are the children of his lover, Mrs. Mson Tor.
According to reports, the kids were taken to the Hemko Hospital when it was discover they were having difficulty in walking, where it was discovered that they had been forcefully penetrated.
Further test showed that they are both HIV positive.
Investigations also revealed that both the accused and his lover are HIV positive and have been using retroviral drugs for more than a year before the incident.
The magistrate ordered the accused to be remanded in prison as she adjourned the case to December 4 for mention.
