One Israel Adams who is facing charges bothering on defilement before a High Court in Port Harcourt has absorbed himself of the accusations.
Adams, a middle aged man is accused of defiling a minor, an eight-year-old girl simply identified as Anabel at Chime Close in Obio-Akpor Local government area of Rivers state.
The defendant during his cross examination told the court that he was being falsely prosecuted.
Adams denied that he did anything to little Anabel and insisted that he was blackmailed.
On her part, the complainant, the mother of the victim, Evelyn Wilson claimed that Adams started molesting her daughter by inserting his finger in her private parts.
Evelyn also alleged that Adams threatened to kill her daughter if she told anyone about the unwholly acts.
Trial Judge, Justice Ifeanyichuku Wodi adjourned the matter to the 27th of April and 4th of May 2018 for continuation of cross examination of witnesses.
Speaking to journalists outside the courtroom, Defense Counsel, Edem Ako said, “The truth of the whole thing will eventually be known during this period of cross examination because I am quite certain somebody will contradict himself.”
