Man allegedly commits suicide, jumps into canal in Lagos

An unidentified man on Friday, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a canal in Lagos.

The incident happened at Cele Bus Stop area, Oshodi-Mile 2 Expressway, P.M News gathered.

Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Fire Service Director, Rasak Fadipe, said the man was brought out of the canal dead.

Fadipe said, “Information gathered from the scene of the tragedy had it that the man was just walking along the road when he suddenly pulled off his shoes and jumped into the canal.”

The Director said no one knew why he decided to take his own life, adding that the Fire Service men rushed to the scene immediately they were informed that a man had jumped into the canal, but found him dead.
