A 36-year-old man from Malaysia who allegedly raped his teenage daughter more than 600 times was on Thursday arraigned for multitude of offences.
MSN News reports that the 36-yer-old, who was brought before the Special Court for Sexual Crimes Against Children committed the crime for over a period of two years
The prosecutors told the court that the accused, whose name was not given committed the crime inside the master bedroom of a house in Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya.
They told the Justice Yong Zarida Sazali-led court that there are a total of 632 charges against the accused which are in line with the Penal Code, Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 (SOACA) and Child Act 2016.
However, only 182 were read out today due to time constraints, with the remaining charges expected to be read out to the accused tomorrow.
The accused, who works as a Unit Trust agent, was charged with 150 counts of committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent, an offence under Section 377C of the Penal Code.
The prosecutor said the accused if convicted is liable to 12,000 years behind bars.
After the charges were read, the accused pleaded not gulty and prayed the court to grant him bail because he is bearing his father’s medical treatment cost. “I have to take care of my parents and I have a car loan to pay. I also plead for a minimum amount,” he said.
Justice Yong, however, denied him bail and set Friday for the remaining charges to be read out to the accused.
