Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas, has revealed he spoke with José Mourinho last summer but ruled out any possibility of him joining the club this year.
Speaking with L’Equipe, Aulas insisted he did not discuss anything related with the club and admitted Mourinho “is not compatible with our economic reality”.
He said: “I saw him last summer in Moscow, we talked a bit, but not about him coming to Lyon, on transfers.
“The Special One is not compatible with our economic reality.”
Mourinho recently hinted that he could work in France, after previously coaching in Spain, Italy, England and Portugal.
