Manchester United’s defender, Luke Shaw, looks set to miss the rest of the season, after he suffered a double fracture against PSV, in their Champions League clash on Tuesday night.

The £27m signing from Southampton, came off worst after a collision with Hector Moreno in the penalty area and his pain was immediately visible.

Play was held up for almost 10 minutes, as Shaw received treatment. The England international was given oxygen and treated by nine different medical staff, before he was stretchered off.

Shaw was comforted by manager Louis van Gaal, as he was taken off.

The 20-year-old is set to undergo surgery this week in Paris, in what will be a big blow to the Red Devils.
