Lukaku: £80m move to Chelsea “very close”

Romelu Lukaku has reportedly turned down Manchester United transfer in favour of £80million return to Chelsea.

Everton had earlier insisted that nothing short of £100m will take Lukaku away from Goodison Park.  But the Belgian international, who is determined to leave Everton this summer, is almost certain to leave for Stamford Bridge in what may be the most expensive transfer within two Premier League clubs.

The Independent reports that Manchester United made an enquiry a few days ago and that while they were not given a firm “no”, the Red Devils were told that a deal with Chelsea is “very close.”

Lukaku is currently on £80,000 wages a week and the figure is likely to be doubled in a move back to London.

Lukaku already said he knows where he will be playing next season.

The big player scored 25 goals in the Premier League, as Everton finished seventh behind Manchester United.
