Lucas Torreira’s agent makes revelation about Arsenal’s transfer negotiations with Sampd

Lucas Torreira’s agent, Pablo Bentancur has made a surprising revelation about Arsenal’s transfer negotiations with Sampdoria during the summer transfer window.
The Gunners payed £22million to sign the midfielder from the Serie A side, after an outstanding performance for Uruguay at the World Cup in Russia.
Speaking with Radio Crc, Torreira’s agent opened up about the transfer, and admitted he would have preferred to have seen the Uruguayan sign for Italian giants, Napoli.
He added that the 22-year-old, who is yet to be part of Unai Emery’s starting XI, is, “adapting well to the Premier League” and that Arsenal satisfied his and Sampdoria’s “requests” by overpaying to make the transfer happen.
“It’s a pity, I’m sorry [Carlo] Ancelotti wasn’t there at the start of the negotiation,” Bentancur admitted.
“He’d have been a great help for Torreira, he has tremendous international experience.
“But then Lucas called me and he confirmed to me that negotiations with Arsenal were too advanced for any second thoughts.
“If Arsenal had collapsed then Napoli would have been perfect. Arsenal satisfied all of our requests, even paying €5million [£4.5million] more than the release clause.
“He’s adapting well to the Premier League, he’s settling well and he’s happy,” he said.
