LP lawmakers dump party for PDP in Delta

Members representing the people of Ethiope East and Udu constituencies in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Evans Ochuko Ivwurie and Hon. Peter Uviejitobor and their supporters today dumped the Labour Party and Joined the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP in the State, DAILY POST is reporting. Also in the train of the decampees was Chief Paulinus Akpeki, a former Delta State Commissioner.

The lawmakers’ defection took place at the PDP Delta Central mega rally held at Sapele Township Stadium.

Hon. Evans Ochuko Ivwurie stated that he decided to join the PDP because the Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has provided “visionary leadership” in spite of the harsh economic reality.

Ivwurie thanked Governor Okowa for being prudent with the affairs of the state just as he vowed to deliver “Sokoto Votes ” for Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa with the help of his supporters.

The member representing the people of Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Uviekitobor, on his part said he was back to support the government, stressing that ” The PDP can never be defeated in 2019 with all the members in their party.”

Delta State Governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa welcomed and received the decampees into the PDP fold, saying,” We are one people and the party is big enough to accommodate all of us. May God bless all of you who have joined us.”
