Losing Kante was Wenger’s biggest mistake last summer – Bentley

Former Arsenal and Tottenham star, David Bentley has criticised Gunners manager, Arsene Wenger, for not stepping up and signing N’Golo Kante from Leicester City last summer.

Bentley feels that Kante would have fitted perfectly into the team at The Emirates, claiming that the Gunners could have won the title this season with Kante playing for them.

Speaking in an interview with 888sport, he said: “Kante might not be able to flick the ball up and do a bicycle kick from a hundred yards away but Kante is exactly the type of player who will do the yards to allow the other players to succeed.

“He might not have made the complete difference but Arsenal would have had a much better chance of winning the league with him in the team.”

Kante has been earning huge amounts of accolades for his performances for Chelsea this season following his switch to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City last summer.

The French midfielder has been a regular fixture in the Chelsea team and has been one of the key players behind the Blues’ title challenge this season.

Wenger’s side are aiming to bounce back to winning ways following their miserable run of four defeats in five Premier League games.
