LMC tells NFF to investigate three referees, six assistants

The League Management Company (LMC), has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Referees Committee, to investigate three referees and their assistants for questionable officiating of some Week 9 games.

LMC has requested that the officials be suspended from handling any games, pending the outcome of the investigation.

They are facing allegations of poor officiating, lack of diligence and questionable calls.

Referee Henry Ogunyamodi from Ondo and his assistants – O. O Awosakin and Justin Takyun – are under scrutiny over the Gabros International vs Sharks match, which was played in Nnewi.

The referees, who oversaw the Wikki Tourists vs Lobi Stars game in Bauchi, Ahmed Dan Zaria from Kaduna and his assistants Alfa Abdulganiyu from Jigawa and Muktar Ismail from Kano, are also being investigated.

LMC’s Chief Operating Officer, Salihu Abubakar, insisted that they will continue to monitor match officals, to ensure that the integrity of the Nigerian League is not compromised.

He also appealed to host teams to stop intimidating other clubs. .
