LMC fines Heartland N2.75m for crowd trouble, orders club to play behind closed doors


The League Management Company (LMC), has fined Heartland N2.75m, for failing to control their supporters during their Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 28 game against IfeanyiUbah FC in Owerri.

Heartland have also been slammed with a two-point deduction, for blocking the complete video coverage of the match.

The Owerri club will now play their next three home fixtrues behind closed doors, starting with the Match Day 30 clash against Nasarawa United on August 7.

Chairman of the club’s supporters, Mr. Iyke Jacob, has also been banned from all NPFL matches for the rest of this season.
