Report has emerged on how Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, ‘charmed’ Kylian Mbappe, in his failed bid to sign the player last year.
Before he left Monaco to sign for Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappe was courted by every top club in Europe.
L’Equipe reports that Mbappe was initially “charmed by the eloquence and enthusiasm” of the Liverpool boss.
Klopp was among several managers very keen to land the talented teenager, but he failed.
The Reds continued to keep tabs on the France forward, and in the summer of 2017 Klopp reportedly spent “several hours” trying to convince him to sign.
The report further claimed the Reds were even prepared to make Mbappe the club’s best-paid player alongside Philippe Coutinho.
However, they were unable to compete with PSG and Real Madrid, when it came to transfer fees.
