Former Chelsea striker, Pat Nevin has revealed what he expects from manager, Maurizio Sarri when the Blues take on Liverpool in the Carabao Cup third round clash at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Sarri has been consistent in his team selection so far, which deprived promising youngsters such as Ruben Loftus-Cheek a chance to feature in games this season.
Nevin, however, is tipping Sarri to make wholesale changes for the League Cup clash when the Stamford Bridge club battle the Reds tonight.
“The team has now entered the tunnel that is the mid-season with all the games in quick succession that this entails,” Nevin told Chelsea’s official website.
“Maurizio will have to make many more changes now, starting with the two games against Liverpool coming up.
“It will be among the most interesting selections this season when the 11 for the Carabao Cup game is announced, and indeed it will be interesting how they fare.
“I thought there would be more changes in Greece but maybe this is when almost everyone else in the squad gets a chance.”
The kick-off time for the match is 7:45pm
