Super Eagles and Stoke City midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo has said that Gernot Rohr’s men need to defeat Liberia in tonight’s international friendly match in Monrovia so as to boost their morale as they prepare for next month’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Libya.
Etebo, who said the Eagles need to beat their fellow West African counterpart, added that they were all happy to beat Seychelles 3-0 on Saturday.
“It’s an important game, we have won. The turf is really a bad one but thank God all the same we won, we got the point; that is the most important of all,” Etebo was quoted by Football Live as saying.
“Thank God for the victory, we have collected three points. It’s for us to look forward to the next game that is coming up against Libya.
”For sure, not only me, the entire team, we are going to prepare fully well because we need to qualify.
“We have not gone for two Nations Cup, so it is very important that we need to qualify.”
The kick off time is 7pm.
