Lekki Gardens’ building collapse: 30 confirmed dead, 13 rescued alive – LASEMA

Following the collapse of a five-storey building located at the end of Kushenla road, Chisco bus stop, Ikate Elegushi-Lekki, Lagos state, the death toll has now risen thirty.

​The Lagos State Emergence Management Agency, LASEMA, confirmed to DAILY POST on Wednesday that as at 3:50 pm, the number of deaths recorded was 30.

Speaking with DAILY POST on behalf of the General Manager, Micheal Akindele, the Public Relations Officer, PRO of the agency, Kehinde Adebayo, confirmed to our reporter that 30 persons were confirmed dead.

“As I am speaking with you, I am at the scene. The total number of confirmed deaths is 30, while those rescued alive are 13.

“On ground are rescue operations and necessary emergency teams: LASEMA, Lagos state Fire Service, Lagos state Ambulance Services.

“We have three escavators on ground working from three different angles,” Adebayo added.
